Lesson Plans - Teaching Ideas

Use the 3 help levels to support children who need additional assistance. See the detailed presentation above.

Start with mode 1 (1¢-2€) and only progress to mode 2 (20¢-50€) when children feel comfortable.

Categorize the coins by their color before sorting: Copper (1C - 2C - 5C), Nordic Gold (10C - 20C - 50C), Brass and Nickel-Brass (1€ - 2€). This helps in better understanding their value.

Print worksheet 01. The student uses a pencil to connect each coin with a dot, placing them in order.

Print and laminate card 02. Use coins from printouts 02 and 03 from the "Shopping with Euros" application. The student places one coin on each dot in order from smallest to largest and vice versa.

Create a "Bank" role-playing game: One student acts as the cashier and must arrange the coins and banknotes in the cash drawer in the correct order.

Print worksheet 03. The student must write the correct inequality symbol (<,>).

Print worksheet 04. The student marks (✓) if the coins are in the correct order from smallest to largest and (x) if they are not.

Always ensure sufficient time for working with the printouts. The generalization of knowledge and the transition from screen to the real world is a very important process in learning.
