Click and play “Euros in Bubbles”, an interactive learning game

A fun interactive game that helps children learn to calculate sums using euro coins and banknotes: 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 30, 40, 60, 70, 80, 90.

Based on the number displayed at the top of the screen, the user must create the correct sum by popping the bubbles containing euro coins and notes.

Includes a scanning function for children with mobility difficulties.

Lesson Plans - Teaching Ideas

Start by selecting only the sums 3c and 30c (or 3€ and 30€) and enable help level 1. Record the operations on paper alongside the game to help students understand how adding a zero affects the value of the number.

For each sum, use the laminated printout 9-1 along with the numbers and symbols from printout 9-2 above. Allow students to first create the answer on the card and then reproduce it on the computer.

Progress gradually to the remaining pairs of sums: 4c-40c/4€-40€, 6c-60c/6€-60€, 7c-70c/7€-70€, 8c-80c/8€-80€, 9c-90c/9€-90€. Maintain parallel recording of operations to reinforce understanding of place value.

In the next step, first combine all sums from 3 to 9 (euro and cent operations in units) and then all sums from 30 to 90 (euro and cent operations in tens).

Focus on a specific sum (e.g., 6c) and explore all possible combinations: 5+1, 2+2+2, 2+2+1+1, 2+1+1+1+1, 1+1+1+1+1+1. Create a list of all possible combinations in advance as a guide.

Use different combinations of coins and banknotes for the same target. For example, the sum of 50€ can be achieved with various combinations of 10€ and 20€.

Encourage students to develop quick calculation strategies. For example, when they see the target of 60€, they should immediately think of the quickest combination (50€+10€).

Connect the game to real shopping situations. For example, "If we want to buy something that costs 90€, what combinations of banknotes could we use?"

  1. Στο παιχνίδι 9 θα θέλαμε να βάλετε και μεγαλύτερα ποσά-στόχους από το 90. Επίσης θα θέλαμε το τελικό σκορ να φτάνει το 1000 [επιθυμία μαθητή 🙂 ] και οι φούσκες με τα χρήματα να κινούνται ακόμη πιο γρήγορα (δοκιμάσαμε όλες τις ρυθμίσεις).

      Διδάσκοντας, με εφαρμογές που είχαμε δημοσιεύσει πριν από τα «Ευρώ σε σαπουνόφουσκες», παρατηρήσαμε ότι δεν ήταν εύκολο για τα παιδιά με έντονες μαθησιακές δυσκολίες να φτιάξουν τα παρακάτω αθροίσματα:
      3€, 4€, 6€, 7€, 8€, 9€ και 30€, 40€, 60€, 70€, 80€, 90€
      Αυτός είναι και ο στόχος των εφαρμογών «Ευρώ σε σαπουνόφουσκες» και «Ευρώ στο διάστημα».
      Μία εφαρμογή με περισσότερες σαπουνόφουσκες θα έδινε τη δυνατότητα για μεγαλύτερα αθροίσματα και θα μπορούσαμε να την δημοσιεύσουμε στο μέλλον.
