Lesson Plans - Ideas

We only play with two (2),   three (3),   four (4) or   five (5) addition terms.

• We only play with bills.

We categorize coins based on their color: Copper-covered steel (2C - 5C)  -  Nordic gold, Copper alloy (10C - 20C - 50C)  -  Copper nickel and Nickel brass, (1€ - 2€)

We always have time available to deal with the printouts as well. Generalizing knowledge and moving from the screen to the real world or vise versa is a very important process.

Children play with the laminated cards in pairs. The cards are shuffled and placed upside down. Each child takes a card and tries to find the sum. For each correct answer, the child keeps the card. The player with the most cards at the end wins.

We use the app as an interactive teaching tool by removing time limits. With this setup, each child has the time they need to think and calculate the sum correctly.

Let us know what you think about this app by writing a comment below. Ideas for use in teaching and suggestions for improvements are always welcome. We cordially thank you!
