Laminate the printouts and cut them out. Use them together with the coin and banknote printouts from the "Shopping with Euros" app to match the amount to the coin/note or to match the amount to the sum of the coins/notes.

Lesson Plans - Ideas

• We play only with the bills for two rounds (8 times in total).

• We play only with the coins for two rounds (16 times in total).

We categorize coins based on their color: Copper-covered steel (1C - 2C - 5C)  -  Nordic gold, Copper alloy (10C - 20C - 50C)  -  Copper nickel and Nickel brass, (1€ - 2€)

We always have time available to deal with the printouts as well. Generalizing knowledge and moving from the screen to the real world or vise versa is a very important process.

Children play with the laminated cards and the printouts of coins and notes. For the first printout, we can ask them to place each coin or note in the correct pouch or point to the correct pouch when presented with a coin or note. With the remaining three printouts, we can give sums with printouts of coins and bills and ask the children to place them in the correct pouch.
