An engaging, interactive game that helps children practice addition using euro coins and banknotes.
Players must quickly calculate the total value of coins and bills displayed at the top of the screen. They then enter their answer into the on-screen calculator before Pengu, a cute penguin character, slides into the water. Pressure adds excitement and encourages rapid mental math skills.

Lesson Plans - Ideas
• For beginners and students who need extra support, set the game to use just 2 coins or bills with values between 1-10 euros, allowing them to build confidence with basic addition and money skills at their own pace.
• When practicing with cents, newcomers and learners building their skills should start with combining 2 amounts under 10 cents to master basic calculations in a comfortable way.
• Students can practice adding different combinations of euro coins and banknotes or with values less than 10, working with two to five items at a time as calculation skills develop. The same addition exercises can be performed using cent values instead of euros.
• A progressive step involves mixing selected euro values (1€, 2€, 5€) with specific cent amounts (1, 2, 5 cents), preparing students for more complex combinations while maintaining single-digit values.
• The next progression combines only 10, 20, and 50 values, practicing calculations with both euros and cents of these specific denominations.
• Adjusting the penguin's speed in the help levels allows each student to calculate at their own pace, ensuring successful completion of the exercises.
• We always have time available to deal with the printouts as well. Generalizing knowledge and moving from the screen to the real world or vise versa is a very important process.
• Students work in pairs using laminated cards from printouts (07, 08 and 02 and 03 from the Shopping with Euros app). Money cards are shuffled and placed face down. Each student draws the agreed number of cards (two to five), calculates their sum, and places the corresponding number cards beneath. After teacher verification of correct answers, students keep their money cards, with the highest collector winning the game.
